Following the pandemic, Restaurant & Bar Razzia in Zurich faced an increasing number of no-shows. By implementing foratable PAY, the restaurant introduced a transparent no-show fee, which noticeably reduced cancellations and reliably secured lost revenue.

Restaurant & Bar Razzia is located in the heart of Zurich and brings together excellent cuisine, high-quality drinks, culture, and events under one roof. Housed in a former cinema dating back to 1922, Razzia consistently enjoys high occupancy in its restaurant, bar, and event spaces.
However, reservation behavior changed noticeably after the pandemic: data from our No-Show-Report shows that the no-show rate in Zurich was around 0% before COVID and subsequently rose to 2.5–3%. While that may sound small, it represents a serious risk for a business of this size.

"The moment you decide to implement a no-show policy is often emotional. It was the same for me," says owner Mike Gut.
On busy days like Saturdays, an empty table for six is more than just a number. For the team, it means frustration, food waste, unnecessary labor costs—and the feeling of helplessly watching revenue and energy go to waste.
Razzia opted for a targeted, fair, and transparent solution with foratable PAY.
Implementation in practice:
Guests are clearly informed in advance. This creates commitment on both sides.

The no-show fee was accepted without issue by guests. Despite occasional cancellations, Razzia is no longer left covering the costs.
“The measure was surprisingly well received – many guests are showing understanding.”
At the same time, booking behavior has changed: awareness regarding reservations has increased, and planning reliability for the kitchen and service staff has improved significantly.
And so, Razzia can get back to focusing on what it does best: delighting people – culinarily, culturally, and emotionally, true to the motto: “Life needs no reason to celebrate.”
