No-shows and last-minute cancellations remain a significant challenge for restaurants. Every guest who fails to show up not only means lost revenue, but also makes capacity planning, staffing and day-to-day operations more difficult.
Our No-Show Report 2026 analyses the complete data from 2025 and looks at how no-show behaviour has developed over the past five years.
▪️ The annual no-show rate has declined slightly
▪️ Awareness campaigns and targeted measures appear to be having an impact
▪️ No-shows nevertheless remain economically relevant for restaurants
▪️ The risk varies significantly depending on time of day, booking lead time, group size and guest origin
▪️ Tourist destinations and international guests show particularly noticeable differences
One of the key findings: the overall no-show rate fell to 2.24% in 2025. However, the risk is far from evenly distributed.
For example, reservations after 8 pm have a no-show rate of 3.71%, while reservations from international guests outside neighbouring countries reach 8.20%.
